Hello members! CSIF is looking for knowledgeable volunteers to help make How To videos. The videos will be featured on our YouTube channel and shared across social media. This is a great chance to get some volunteer hours, share knowledge on gear and filmmaking, and add some credits to your resume!
Videos should be no longer than 5 minutes in length, and can cover any aspect of production, from gear walkthroughs, to pre-production budgeting and planning, to editing and colour grading. If you have an area of expertise you would like to share, now’s the chance!
Send a short one paragraph pitch for your video, a current resume, and any other supplemental material you feel may be relevant to the project to equipment@csif.org
Joining a CSIF Club is a great way to get involved with the community and meet like-minded people! All of our clubs are free and only open to CSIF members (non-members are allowed to attend one trial meeting prior to membership signup). They can be for specific roles (writers, directors, actors) or a more general topic (scene study).
Send a short one paragraph pitch of the club you’d like to see. Please be advised that you would be committing to leading this club for the first year f it goes forward. Email: programming@csif.org
Each year at the Annual General Meeting there are open calls for becoming a board member. These are volunteer positions that help direct CSIF as an organization and help continue our mission of supporting the independent filmmaker in Calgary and surrounding area.
