CSIF Event Partnership Application

The Calgary Society of Independent Filmmakers (CSIF) is an inclusive, non-profit, arts-based society that exists to encourage filmmaking as art, reflecting and challenging our cultural landscape through supporting the production and exhibition of independent media art.

In terms of exhibition, CSIF aims to orient new and existing members to the notion of film as a “media-arts language”, and build a strong film community by showcasing historical, contemporary, and local works. Doing so gives our members the opportunity to view film as an art and social practice.

We would love to be able to support partnership events with all interested members, however we are a small staff of three and do not have all the resources needed to be able to do this. As such, we must ensure that all partnerships reflect our mandate and would be mutually beneficial to the society as a whole as well as the CSIF member who is applying.

We evaluate each event application according to a rubric. Things that will affect a successful partnership include: reflection of our mandate, availability of date/time, strain on staff, benefit to CSIF, status of the CSIF member applying, among others.

For booking inquires please email production@csif.org or equipment@csif.org.
