Accessability of Production Equipment |

It is the goal of the CSIF to provide support to its membership and to make cinema production and post-production equipment and facilities accessible to filmmakers of all levels of experience in Calgary and the Calgary region: including aboriginal artists, artists from diverse cultural communities and artists from other under-served groups.
The Calgary Society offers its members a wide range of Production Equipment for the production of Independent Film and Media Art. Rates are subsidized for CSIF Production Members and CSIF Production Members working in the medium of film.Production Equipment includes 16mm and Super 8 cameras, lighting and grip equipment, location sound recording equipment
Access and use of the CSIF's production equipment and facilities is limited to CSIF members in good standing for use on independent productions where the Artist retains creative and editorial control and copyright over the project. Any project that wishes to access the CSIF equipment bank must be in harmony with the mission statement and Equity policy of the CSIF. The project must not violate human or animal rights and the filmmaker must hold retain complete copyright and/or creative control over the project through to its completion. |

ASSOCIATE MEMBER RATES are for CSIF Associate members in good- standing, who have been members of the CSIF for more than 1 month, and have not completed their 20 hours of volunteer time to the Society. Associate members must be able to demonstrate proficiency with the rental equipment.
PRODUCTION MEMBERS in good standing receive a premium rental rate in return for their continued support of a minimum of 20 volunteer hours per year. Production Member Rates only apply to the member’s own, artists driven projects and cannot be applied to Commercial projects or projects of another individual or CSIF associate member.
COMMERCIAL RATES Any Project that is deemed to be commercial in any aspect (filmmaker does not retain complete copyright and/or creative control over the project) will be subject to paying the listed Commercial Rate REGARDLESS OF the MEMBERS STATUS.

1 Day = Standard day rate. +1 Day = Additional days beyond 1 and up to 4 days are charged at the Standard Day Rate. 5 Days = 5 consecutive day of Rental 3 x Standard Day Rate 1 Week = 7 day/Week Rental - 4 x Standard Day Rate. Weekend = Pick up Friday Return Tuesday, 1.5 x Standard Day Rate. Month = 28 day Rental, 12 x Standard Day Rate. |
