AN EVENING WITH FILMMAKER COREY LEE

Corey Lee has been working in film since 1993 and producing films for the last ten years. His work has been exhibited and awarded at film festivals in Canada and abroad. A selection of his work will screen within an interactive Q & A discussion with the filmmaker, as he discusses how and why he chose filmmaking as a career, his approach to writing and collaboration, what heʼs learned through the years about his own process, as well as films and filmmakers that have influenced him.

Films to be screened:
SELECTED SCENES FROM DEFINING EDWARD.
After an accident, a depressed, pill popping cartoonist suffering from amnesia, wakes to find himself attended to by three residents of a house in the middle of nowhere. What began with the kindness of strangers, quickly collapses into a twisted game of self preservation, as one man fights to unlock the truth about his own troubled past.
CLIMAXXX: A LOVE STORY.
A pair of inept filmmakers struggle to make the first large format 3-D adult film.
THE KILTER TRILOGY.
The Perfection of the Moment. What Youʼre Ready For. In Translation. Three short films adapted from John Gouldʼs 2003 Giller Prize short-listed collection.
ARMOUR FOR A BOY.
A manga inspired animated folktale of one Roninʼs desire for retribution and a Senseiʼs final lesson.
